Maserati reveals an electric convertible with lightning speed

Maserati comes with the GranCabrio Folgore. Power converter using technology from Formula E.

Many new electric vehicles have been added in recent years. These are mostly SUVs. There is always a hatchback or a sedan, occasionally a station wagon, but the convertible is a real shocker. Mini announced an electric convertible, but it is being built in a very limited version. MG comes with Cyberster. And that was the whole list. With the GranCabrio Folgore from Maserati, there is an additional offer in the luxury segment. One with impressive numbers.

Folgore is Italian for electric and becomes an indicator of electric Maseratis. It’s more exciting than putting an E forward or backward somewhere. Apart from this GranCabrio, there will also be GranTurismo Folgore and Grecale Folgore. That’s a luxury electric SUV.

Stronger than your hairstyle can tolerate

There are three 300 kW electric motors on board, which together produce 750 hp and no less than 1350 Nm of torque. Suitable for horse trailer. It’s a shame that the GranCabrio probably won’t be offered with a towbar. The maximum speed is 290 km / h, which will also be bad for horses.

The 800 volt platform ensures fast charging of electricity with a peak of up to 270 kW. The 83 kWh battery gives you an official range of about 450 km. But if you achieve that, you’re not driving as intended.

Although with a fabric roof down you can of course also travel in peace with your hairstyle intact. If it starts to rain, you don’t have to stop to close it. You can close it again in 16 seconds and you can go up to 50 km/h. The GranCabrio offers space for four passengers, while the rear two travel at a premium when it comes to legroom. But it is impossible to sit four adults in it. We can’t wait to drive up and down the boulevard completely electric.
