Maserati is interesting in Formula E but DS and Mclaren are faster!

Finally, Maserati will have maintained the incredible pace seen on the first day of Formula E testing, at the end of the test week organized at the Valencia circuit. However, the single seaters of DS Penske Team proved their mettle by winning 2nd and 3rd place, ahead of the Mclarens in particular. This bodes well for the 2023 season, which will mark the introduction of the third generation of 100% electric seats.

Formula E: The likes of DS and Penske?

Inside the DS Penske Team, the smile was the same, after testing in Valencia, Spain. However, no one is bragging because the very small differences prove that once again, the Formula E championship will be very competitive. We should also highlight the impressive performance of the Maserati and Mclaren teams. Two models that could include the fiercest rivals of Jean-Eric Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne, next year. However, based on their experience, the three colors from DS Automobiles will be loved, in a few weeks, when approaching the first event, in Mexico City.

Eugenio Franzetti, director of DS Performance:

After hard work on the development of the DS E-TENSE FE23, the tests in Valencia have finally arrived. Here was an opportunity to socialize and begin to understand the performance of our competitors. It was an intense week that gave us some very good signs but also indicated that the level of competition will be very high and that Season 9 will be very tough! »

Stoffel Vandoorne, Formula E world champion:

It was great to be back in Valencia for these pre-season tests! The sessions were very good for us. We learned a lot about our new car. Now we have the right foundations to face the first race of the season in Mexico City! »

Jean-Éric Vergne, Formula E champion in 2018 and 2019:

Everything went very well! I am very happy with the car and all the work done by the team. During these testing days it is very important to analyze the data and identify possible improvements. It is true that we have to continue the work but I am confident because the performance has been very good here. »
