Maserati MC20 Cielo, close to the stars

From the outgoing MC20 Berlinette, this Spyder borrows the new 3-liter twin-turbo Nettuno V6. Placed in the middle position of the rear, this engine features, for the first time in a series, double combustion and a pre-chamber borrowed from F1. This ignition principle makes it possible to improve efficiency and specific power.

Comfort above all

Some may criticize it for being hollow at low revs and for a dull character compared to the Ferrari engine, but it’s not annoying, as long as you switch to Sport or Corsa modes from the new circuit in the tunnel. Controlled manually from the end of paddles mounted behind the steering wheel, the 8-speed gearbox then gains speed. More GT than true sports car, the MC20 is appreciated more for quick acceleration than for exhilarating speed. The steering seems very assisted and the carbon-ceramic discs do not have the desired bite of the reins. Finally, you will plan to travel light, the trunks give only 150 liters, and accept a penalty of 60,000 euros.
