Maserati offers an electric conversion for 206,713 euros

Maserati presents its third electric model with the GranCabrio Folgore. It is the most expensive electric car from Stellantis’ Italian subsidiary to date. In Germany the model costs from 206,713 euros.

The drive technology of the new electric converter is already known from the closed GranTurismo Folgore (from 200,592 euros). The open electric car uses three motors that provide a system output of 560 kW (762 hp), and 610 kW (830 hp) is available for a short time in boost mode. The traction battery has a capacity of 92.5 kWh, of which 83 kWh can be used. The range is given as 419 to 447 km.

Like the GranTurismo, the new E-Cabrio uses an 800-volt platform and three 300 kW (408 hp) motors – two at the back, one at the front. The front engine can be turned off when not needed. If all three machines work together, the race from 0 to 100 km / h can be achieved in 2.8 seconds. Top speed is said to be 290 km/h.

The 92.5 kWh battery of the E version is placed in the T-shape of the alternator, which is also available as a combustion engine, filling the central tunnel, among other things. Similar to the electric GranTurismo with an 800-volt design, the charging power is up to 270 kW DC, meaning that the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 18 minutes. Maserati puts the AC charging power at 22 kW.

In addition to the new GranCabrio Folgore and GranTurismo Folgore, the brand in Germany currently offers the mid-range SUV Grecale Folgore (from 124,301 euros) for electric vehicles. All fully electric cars from Maserati have the addition of Folgore, which stands for “electricity,” in their name. In 2025, the super sports car MC20 will also be offered in a battery-only version, in 2027 an all-new electric car and in 2028 the Quattroporte Folgore sedan.
