NOT TO MISS – The new electric Maserati, the hydrogen Alpine and the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

There are some events that should not be missed this year. We are obviously talking about the next electric model from Maserati, with the Folgore badge, the Alpine hydrogen concept that will be driven at Spa-Francorchamps or even the arrival of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 next summer.

Car news hasn’t been very rich lately. Fortunately, some manufacturers continue to release new products, some of which are very different. Today, we will discuss the case of three models designed for performance, be it fuel, electric or even hydrogen cars. For its part, Maserati announced the arrival of a new electric model to expand its Folgore range, without saying more on this topic. On the other hand, Alpine is preparing to run its Alpenglow, a concept that we were able to discover during the Paris Motor Show in 2022. Finally, Chevrolet is preparing to further expand the range of its Corvette, with a new version of the ZR1. even more efficient.

A second electric Maserati is on the way

In a teaser posted on Facebook, Maserati announced the arrival on April 15 of a new model in the range of electric vehicles. The model in question has not been revealed but we can assume it is the electric version of the GranCabrio, revealed a few weeks ago. But it could also be the highly anticipated MC20 Folgore, which the trident brand had confirmed would enter production in 2025.

Maserati’s 100% electric range, named Folgore for “electricity” in Italian, already includes models such as the Grecale Folgore and the GranTurismo Folgore. The latter has the power of 3 300 kW magnetic motors, developing more than 760 horses.. Maserati’s CEO mentioned the development of a special platform for the electric MC20, promising performance and handling that meet expectations.

Hydrogen Alpine

The Alpine Alpenglow hypercar concept will debut on May 10 at the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. Powered by a hydrogen combustion engine, its design was based on the original Alpine A4810 concept.. Although Alpine recently announced its arrival in the United States as a 100% electric brand, this test will allow us to understand the potential development and behavior of such a vehicle for performance purposes.

But the French manufacturer is not the only one stepping up to the hydrogen track. Because other brands such as Hyundai, Toyota or BMW are also starting to be interested in this new combustion method.. This will make it possible to provide an alternative to electric cars, whose sales of fear do not allow us to consider the future with confidence.

Sports cars are definitely in style this week. Chevrolet has announced the imminent arrival of a new version of the Corvette, the ZR1. Rumors are rife about the powertrain that would be installed in this new version.

Some think that it can take the 5.5 L V8 from the current Corvette Z06, but to adjust its power up Power should still be sent to the rear wheels, with an automatic transmission of 8. UA lot of work would be done on the aerodynamics of this car, which would logically receive various attachments such as the rear spoiler or the front and side air intakes.
