Richy Jackson Talks About Working With Lady Gaga, JoJo Siwa’s ‘Karma’

Legendary choreographer Richy Jackson shares his favorite moments from working with Lady Gaga on some of her most iconic music videos like “Bad Love,” “Telephone,” “Stupid Love,” and how they prepared for her Super Bowl performance; what it was like working with JoJo Siwa on her song “Karma” and how he helped her mature into this new era; “Rain On Me” is used in Fortnite and what makes a partnership with Fortnite one of a kind. He also teaches our host Tetris Kelly some of his famous choreography and more!

Tetris Kelly:
Hey, it’s Tetris with Billboard News, hanging out with choreographer Richy Jackson. How about the catcher?

Richie Jackson:
How is it growing?

Tetris Kelly:
It’s going well. I’m so excited to get into this dance conversation with you and maybe dance a little too.

Richie Jackson:
Yes, we should do that, Tetris.

Tetris Kelly:
Let’s talk about Fortnite, Lady Gaga, all these experiences. Talk to me like I’m stupid. What Fortnite and how do we enter Lady Gaga in this game?

Richie Jackson:
Okay, so truth be told, this is my first time ever Fortnite.

Obviously, I’ve heard about it Fortnite – has become a thing. I’ve never played it. My assistant, Ian, was literally laughing when this whole thing, like, happened because he said, “You don’t know what you’ve done. Like, you don’t even know what you’ve done right now.” And I was like, “I’m not doing it,” so I was like, “I have to play the game.”

So I played the game and it was just interesting to, like, see Lady Gaga’s skins and understand, like, the wrap – which is the weapon – and then I said, “Okay, when’s the dance?” So watching the dance happen I said, “Okay, yeah, this is it.” But Ian says to me, “Well, just to let you know that when you play, you can’t play safe because you can still get shot.”
