The Japanese manufacturer has been talking for some time about a successor that would be built on the standard SMSS (Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable) architecture which CX-60 and the new CX-80 building, but more than cool concept cars These plans have not yet been expanded. Until now, because Mazda is presenting this EZ-6 at the Auto China show.

The body of the new Mazda EZ-6 is 4.92 meters long and looks very familiar, because the lines take almost all the design techniques of Kodo that we know from the latest models in the list. Despite the strong lights, rear spoiler and rear light blocks decorated with round elements, the design looks more than what we are used to thanks to the CX-60. This is a Mazda 6 designed for the Chinese market, created in collaboration with Changan.

Hybrid or electric

Mazda EZ-6 is a Chinese Deepal SL03, sold in the People’s Republic by Changan Auto. The Japanese manufacturer limits its promise by blessing the existing platform with its body and improved interior, dominated by a central infotainment system with a 14.6-inch touchscreen. But don’t look for the Mazda 6’s four-cylinder hybrid or inline-six diesel.

2024 Mazda EZ-6

The EZ-6 is an electric Mazda 6 that is based on rear-wheel drive. You will have a choice between a 100% electric powertrain that promises a driving range of approximately 600 km and between a hybrid powertrain with extra power, which increases the range to 1,000 km. Please note that these are not WLTP figures, because they are calculated according to the Chinese CLTC protocol. The Japanese manufacturer has not elaborated further on the specifications and performance. Regardless, the EZ-6 will not be coming to Europe in this form.
