Mazda 2 Hybrid is another “clone”, after the Suzuki Swace test published recently and again a car built on the basis of Toyota. how did it go On average.

In the case of the Mazda 2, we currently have two models to choose from, marked the same, but still completely different from each other. The first Mazda 2, which today we will not talk about in more detail, is the original range of Mazda 2, ie from the beginning to the end invented and produced by Mazda, a completely combustion engine. The latter is a hybrid version, which is the result of a collaboration between Toyota and Mazda, but it must be admitted that unfortunately there is not enough Mazda in this Mazda.
Mazda 2 Hybrid – appearance and limitations
What I like about Mazda is its modest and modest beauty, which you can feel in every detail, but above all in the interior. What the Mazda 2 Hybrid fails, in my opinion, is primarily the lack of refinement of this interior. The interior of the Mazda 2 Hybrid does not hide its shortcomings, on the contrary. Once we take a place behind the wheel, we see a strange creation in the form of a curtain that does not cover the steering wheel well.

The finish of the interior, although it is well packed, is made of materials that are not related to the concept of elegance – more hard, black plastic was used. Only the sides of the doors are covered with upholstery, which brings a little softness, because without it the interior will be just sad and not very attractive.

Mazda 2 Hybrid – performance
The design of the interior itself is functional, you can not complain in this regard – there are many useful storage places, shelves, and the very line of the dashboard and the doors are modern and attractive. So if Mazda would let its designers, who are very detailed, I think it could make a really good car.

However, while we are still inside, our eyes sooner or later fall on the 8-inch multimedia screen. And unfortunately, there is no rain there with any interest, because … the picture that this screen shows is not interesting at all. Multimedia has been taken 1:1 from Toyota, which in turn stopped in time a few years ago and is trying to prove to the world that it is possible to resist the pressure on multimedia evolution. And maybe it can, but why?
At a time when the screen mounted in the middle of the car from other manufacturers we see a good image quality, good bright colors, we have an intuitive touch function and it is really our main function center, why pretend to be a monochrome screen with a computer look from the beginning of Are these 90s good?

Mazda 2 Hybrid – economy is an asset
Let’s assume, however, that the Mazda 2 Hybrid has something bigger to offer and doesn’t care about little things like attention to detail or a multimedia interface. Its main prize is … being one of the most economical hybrid cars. Believe me, during the entire test, it was very difficult to find the effect of even an indicator of the capacity of the tank. We finished the test with an average cycle fuel consumption of 4.2 l/100 km. Under the bonnet is a 92 hp petrol engine and an 80 hp electric motor for a total of 116 hp.

The Mazda 2 Hybrid can run on electricity
Toyota’s hybrid technology, used in the Mazda 2, is so refined that you can move either on the electric motor alone, on the gasoline engine alone, or in a combined car. In addition to the possibility of forcing the car to drive on the electric motor by pressing the right button on the center console, the car itself chooses the right driving mode, according to the needs and current conditions, so that it is as economical and efficient as possible. . In many cases, the driver can also adjust his driving style to use the car as efficiently as possible, i.e. to use the electric motor as often as possible. This, in turn, is possible thanks to the indicator placed in front of the driver, which shows the various types in which we move mainly to the electric motor.

Mazda 2 Hybrid – this sound encourages you to drive economically
The energy used to drive the car is provided when it stops – then the car receives energy and produces it in a special battery. The electric motor is a blessing in this car not only due to the visible effects in the combustion rate, but also due to the fact that you cannot hear the work of the three-cylinder combustion engine, which, unfortunately, when you turn it off. the stronger the gas, the louder it cries. However, it does so in an inefficient way that encourages the driver to use the electric motor in the first place. Or maybe it was the intention of the manufacturers to encourage drivers to drive more economically? 😉

Mazda 2 Hybrid – reviews
Driving the Mazda 2 Hybrid itself is pleasant – the driving position is low, the car is short and agile, so it drives like a go-kart at times. Mazda deserves a great deal for driving. As you already know, for burning, and therefore, for the gentle treatment of our wallets as well. But this lack of improvement leaves a certain disgust. Especially when it is known that the concern of Mazda is good in these blocks – it was enough to let it speak.
