The Mazda CX-80 is the second model of the brand to be built exclusively for the European market, although it is actually an extended version of the CX-60 with 7 seats. The interior of the Mazda CX-80 looks similar to the CX-60, but it can be configured in three different ways. First of all, the Japanese SUV can enjoy a rear seat that can slide by 12 cm, making room for a third row of seats, with a total of 7 seats. However, you can also choose 6 seats thanks to the two reclining seats in the second row. Finally, these comfortable seats can also be equipped with a special center console to further enhance the feeling of luxury. The trunk of the Mazda CX-80 is 258 liters with all seats straight, 687 liters with two rows of seats, or up to 1,917 liters with the roof and all seats folded down.

The same plug-in hybrids and diesels as in the CX-60

Under the long hood of the CX-80 is the same engine as in its younger brother. The Mazda CX-80 e-Skyactiv plug-in hybrid still has a combined power of 241 kW (327 hp) and 500 Nm, allowing the 7-seater SUV to sprint to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and reach top speed . 195 km / h. The 17.8 kWh battery of this PHEV gives the model a full electric range of 60 km. The 3.3 liter six-cylinder diesel engine with 187 kW (254 hp) and 550 Nm on e-Skyactiv D makes it possible to run up to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds, and a top speed of 219 km/h. . And that with a consumption of less than 6 l/100 km, according to the Mazda CX-80’s WLTP figures. Both engines are always mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

How much does the Mazda CX-80 cost?

Unfortunately, we still don’t know what the new Mazda CX-80 will cost for 2024, nor what the difference will be between its engines and equipment levels. We can already announce that order books will open in May. The first Mazda CX-80s should arrive in Belgium in autumn 2024.
