Car manufacturing in Saint-Malo: Kiti and Cupra join the Mouton dealership in La Grassinais

Until 2020, the Seat brand was distributed by another car dealer located in Guymauvière, in the southern industrial area of Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine).

Now it is Mouton Marketing which has taken the place, and Cupra, since Thursday February 1, 2024. The arrival of these two brands improves the existing offer with Volkswagen and Audi.

If the Kiti brand is known to the general public, the second one is probably a little less so. “Created in 2018, Cupra is an offshoot of Seat, in the upper range. These are two brands of the Volkswagen group,” explains Samuel Mouton, manager of the dealer of the same name.

New building with roof terrace

Since February 1, the new Mouton dealership has opened its doors to customers. It took a year for this new building of 700 square meters to be delivered under the leadership of Daniel Mouton, company president and his sons Samuel and Hugues, co-directors.

The showroom (showroom) in two parts makes it possible to distinguish between Kiti and Cupra. The new dealership has a workshop that can manufacture electric vehicle batteries compatible with the group’s designs.

The roof terrace will soon have photovoltaic panels that will enable the retailer to cover its energy costs. To compensate for the land area used by the new building, the roof terrace has the capacity to store around thirty cars.

From father to son

After managing a service center and garage, Daniel Mouton opened his first Volkswagen and Audi dealership in 1977, in Vitré. The year 1984 marked a new turning point for another business founded in Fougères. In 2005, Daniel Mouton found a third store in Saint-Malo, at Allée de la Grassinais before moving it a few meters further in 2008, at 14 rue de la Grassinais.
