The 2025 Infiniti QX80 will be revealed ahead of its world premiere at the New York Auto Show

TimeInfiniti QX80 2025 will make its world premiere next week at the New York Auto Show, luxury brand Nissan has revealed images and information about its 3-inch luxury SUV.e the generation of its luxury large-format SUV. Originally introduced in 2004 under the name QX56, the second generation Infiniti QX80 was on the market since 2010, although it still benefited from a few updates.

Despite terrible sales, the model was largely due to the new generation, which competes with cars like the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, Lexus LX and Mercedes-Benz GLS.

Always square lines

The 2025 Infiniti QX80 is, according to Alfonso Albaisa, senior vice president of Global Design, the first production model to use the new design language of Craftsmanship in Motion. The car is also heavily inspired by the QX Monograph concept presented last year at Pebble Beach. The car, which offers 3 rows of seats, retains its very square shape, but the designers have improved the modern front with a double arch shape and new LED optical units separated into two separate parts.

At the rear, the lighting area made up of 300 LEDs extends across the entire width and has the same style as the daytime running lights at the front. The lights have a smoked finish, while there is a row of light bars placed underneath.

New turbo engine

The old 5.6-liter V8 will give way to a 3.5-liter twin-turbo engine that develops 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, or 50 horsepower and 102 pound-feet more than the outgoing generation engine. That beats the nearest Japanese competitor, the Lexus LX, which has 409 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. The engine is mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission including selector switches that allow for manual gear changes. No electric motor has been announced yet.

An electronic air suspension is available, which allows you to lower the car by nearly 3 inches (7.5 cm) when parked to make it easier to load cargo or insert passengers. Additionally, the adaptive digital suspension constantly assesses the road surface and vehicle behavior to maximize on-board comfort. The manufacturer also mentions that it has improved the soundproofing of the cabin.

Opulence on board

The cabin of the previous generation QX80 was already quite luxurious, it seems that the 2025 model continues in the same way and pushes the feeling of luxury even more. Highlights include ash wood trim including laser-etched steel inserts, semi-aniline leather seats with hand-stitching, and a lighting system offered in 64 colors.

The cabin also takes on a more modern and refined look thanks to a new screen configuration and infotainment system. Two 14.3-inch screens are joined together to give the impression that there is only one. One, customizable, shows a set of tools, the other touch screen, is used by the infotainment system, the second by using Google technology. A Klipsch Reference brand sound system is also offered and has 24 speakers with a power of 1,200 watts.

The 2025 QX80 also introduces other new technologies, such as a biometric cooling system. This technology can detect if one of the passengers in the second row is hot, so it can direct cool air towards them automatically.
