McLaren wants clarification on another Ferrari floor test

McLaren and other teams have asked the FIA for full clarification on Ferrari’s new floor used during the Pirelli test at Imola. That reports Motorsport.com.

Questions were asked because of the restrictions imposed during tire tests. During the Pirelli test, only parts that have been used during at least one session during the Grand Prix weekend can be used on the car. During testing, other parts appeared on Sainz’s Ferrari, including a different floor.

FIA approval

Several teams have requested clarification from the FIA on the basis of the new equipment. The organization has entered into discussions with representatives of Ferrari. The racing stand showed that the standard floor had been broken and an old version had been installed on the car. The FIA was satisfied with that and the book was closed on the organization.

Question marks McLaren

McLaren team principal Zak Brown has said he does not fully agree with the FIA’s explanation. “We need complete transparency, we need complete confidence in the FIA. I have heard about the old floor, but then we need to see it. We need complete transparency to gain confidence in the handling of the FIA.”
