Porsche: “In 2024 we will position ourselves for the future”


Porsche delivered 77,640 vehicles worldwide in the first quarter. That is 4 percent less than last year, the number of births in the first quarter was 80,767. Developments in North America and China in particular are causing the decline. In North America, shipments decreased by 23 percent to 15,087 units in China decreased by 24 percent (16,340 units). In Germany, on the other hand, there was a clear increase in sales of 37 percent to 11,274 units. In Europe (excluding Germany), Porsche experienced a 9 percent increase (around 20,000 units).

Detlev von Platen, Porsche’s Chief Sales Officer, says: “In 2024 we will be preparing for the future. With the all-electric Macan, the new Panamera, the Taycan and the new 911, we are renewing four of the six model series.” He adds: “Despite the new launch, regulatory-related delivery delays in North America and the still-challenging market situation in China, we were able to keep shipments on a consistent level.

Cayenne is in high demand (28,025 units, 20 percent). Macan was delivered 20,576 times, a decrease of 14 percent. 911 contributed to 12,892 deliveries (+17 percent).

The head of sales adds: “With our exciting new models, we will be bringing a strong portfolio of Porsche products to the road at all times in 2024. This puts us in a good starting position for years to come.”

Shares of Porsche (WKN: PAG111, ISIN: DE000PAG9113, Charts, News) gained 1.8 percent to 96.00 euros. In the last twelve months, the share price has fallen by almost 19 percent.
