The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS is dressed to the brim

Mercedes-Benz has taken a different stylistic approach in designing its electric vehicles. Chiseled and aggressive silhouettes of gasoline models have given way to more attractive rounded shapes and plows. And the flagship sedan of the brand with the star-spangled logo, the S-Class, was not spared when its electric EQS counterpart was created.

High performance, good and beautiful, had all the characteristics of the personality of the S-Class However, after some time, the followers of this special class revealed that it lacked the design panache. Mercedes-Benz dealers in the United States even claimed that its design lacked “ambition” and that sales arguments were rare for this sedan that easily exceeds $100,000.

In 2025, the manufacturer re-invigorates this lovely sedan with improved driving and on-board technology, but also with features long appreciated by brand enthusiasts.

More shields…Mercedes!

At the front of the EQS, the designers added two elements signed “Benz” that were conspicuous by their absence until today, namely the Mercedes-Benz logo that is located at the end of the hood, and the simulated grille with horizontal chrome slats. . It might seem like a small addition, but the front end of the outgoing EQS lacked flavor with its flat logo and nondescript grille. Thus, these latter elements infuse the brand’s DNA into the sedan.

The manufacturer has also packed the cabin with new features, such as an optional executive cabin that has a front passenger seat that can be folded down to provide additional space for the occupant sitting in the second row. He will be able to recline his seat by 38 degrees. Mercedes-Benz also reveals that it has added 5.08 mm of extra foam to the backs of the rear seats.

Bigger battery

The 2024 EQS has a 108.4 kWh battery that powers a pair of electric motors that produce 355 horsepower in the EQS 450, 516 horsepower in the EQS 580, and 649 horsepower in the AMG EQS. The range can reach 547 kilometers in the range of 450 and 580 However, Mercedes-Benz has increased the capacity of its battery for the 2025 model, with 118 kWh.

If we do not boast any gains in terms of performance, Mercedes-Benz estimates that this improvement can bring about an increase in autonomy of around 7%. Technical improvements in braking and regeneration have also been made.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS has gone through several iterations since its inception. Will these latest cosmetic and technical tweaks be enough to attract more buyers in this highly selective segment? Only time will tell. Model year 2025 EQS will arrive for sale later this year.
