Mercedes-Benz opens Electric Software Hub

Mercedes-Benz aims to be a leader in electric driving and car programming. To accelerate this development, the company has invested more than 200 million euros in the Electronic Program Center at the Mercedes Technology Center (MTC) in Sindelfingen. This brings together a lot of software, hardware, system integration and experimental work under one roof. At this point, Mercedes-Benz is strengthening its operational integration approach.

The Power Software Center accelerates the transformation of Mercedes-Benz. The company’s strategic pillar manifests itself here: “Leading in the electric car and car software”. From 2025, the new automotive architecture will be exclusively electric. Mercedes-Benz takes a holistic approach to car programming, from basic research and development to software integration. About 1,000 new jobs are currently being created for developers in Sindelfingen alone. Up to 2,000 additional job vacancies are currently being created in the global R&D network. The Power Program Center brings together two key strategic topics for the future of Mercedes-Benz and strengthens the role of the Sindelfingen website as a major center for development and qualification. The company has invested more than 200 million euros for this.

“The Power Software Center is the center of our research and development and at the same time closely linked to production sites around the world. Here the key features of the future of Mercedes-Benz become a reality – especially our MB.OS. operating system. Vehicles in general are the most complex products. The hardware and software are seamless and must work together perfectly. We handle that at the Electrical Software Center.
