Mercedes-Benz EQS: upgrade with up to 821 km of range

Mercedes-Benz is updating its large electric limousine, the EQS, with a change in the grille and the return of the star on the hood and, in particular, a high-capacity battery. Depending on the model, the Mercedes-Benz EQS now shows, on its technical sheet, a WLTP range of up to 821 km. It is enough to consider road trips of about 600 km, without going through the “charging box”.

On sale since 2021, the Mercedes-Benz EQS therefore benefits from a minor mid-career overhaul, which the German automaker describes as an update. Let’s remember that, a few months after the arrival ofEQS (L : 5,216 m) in the electric car market, the shortest Mercedes-Benz EQE (L: 4,964 meters) it was also marketed as “small EQS”. As mentioned in the introduction, the EQS changes, according to the model, with a new, more classic grille, meaning “more Mercedes-Benz”.

Mercedes-Benz EQS thus includes The grille, with bright inserts, is certainly full, but which looks closer than that of hot cars.thanks to the presence of horizontal bars.

As for Mercedes-Benz’s flagship, the S-Class-like limousine, it’s back as the EQS electric car. Please note, this new grille will only be standard on the new “Electric Art” finish.knowing that the full range of 2024 EQS has not been revealed yet.

Within EQS 2024, Hyperscreen is now standard on all EQS, which is not the case in the current range from limousine to star. In addition, in the back, comfort is improved for passengers withthe arrival of the “Rear Comfort Pack Plus” and seats called “executive” (option: €3,900) which includes foot station, right. Not only that, because the same optional package allows the rear passenger to directly lower the front passenger seat for more space.

In terms of driving aids, the large electric car EQS 2024 connects the new “Automatic Lane Change” (ALC) system, i.e. automatic lane change on the roadthis up to 140 km/h.

Let’s come to the new EQS 2024 battery EQS “stack” goes from 108.4 to 118 kWh of ability. In terms of maximum freedom, this gives 798 km WLTP pour l’EQS 450 4Matic (wheel drive – 2 motors – 400 kW / 544 hp) and 821 km WLTP pour l’EQS 450+ (propulsion – 1 engine – 265 kW / 360 hp).

Finally, we see that Mercedes-Benz EQS and EQE 4Matic increase towing capacity from 750 kg to 1,700 kg.
