Stellantis will invest an additional 100 million euros for its electric Fiat 500

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Car maker Stellantis announced Wednesday an additional investment of 100 million euros aimed at “strengthening the potential” of its Fiat 500e electric car.

Meanwhile, the group led by Carlos Tavares announced on Wednesday the start of a new production operation at its historic site in Mirafiori, located in northern Italy, with electric transmission gearboxes (e-DCT).

“This launch represents the next step in the 240 million euro investment aimed at transforming the complex” and creating the “Mirafiori Automotive Park 2030,” Stellantis said in a press release.

The automaker is targeting annual production of 600,000 electric hybrid gearboxes to prepare the next generation of its hybrid models.
