During ISE, Metaverse expert Alba Collado announced the big project in the invidis studio – now it has become a reality. Or at least virtual reality: For the Seat Cupra brand, he built a virtual island for more than two years, which is now known as. metahype he went online. His employer, Grup Mediapro’s Spanish digital agency Visyon, developed the platform.
Immersion Partnership
Metahype is not an isolated world – it is a place where different brands and their users are meant to collaborate across. The island will continue to expand. A common culture and a new kind of feeling should emerge. Cupra commissioned the digital agency Visyon from Barcelona, Cupra sees itself with its electric cars as the inspiration for a new era. The idea behind Metahype was to enter into synergy with other future-oriented brands. Together they wanted to find a way to communicate with the next generation.
Primavera Sound is Cupra’s first collaboration partner; in the future, other products will be given their place in the metahype. Metahype is currently divided into three zones: Metahype Square, Cupra and the Primavera Sound district. Users first land on the Metahype square, where they receive their Metahype pass. Pass is a powerful NFT that gathers “hypes”. With these hypes, users are rewarded for their commitment and activity on the platform.

Figure Man
In the Cupra district, users can currently find five different rooms. In Cupra Racing, for example, they can compete against other users in racing games. At Cupra Next they are creating their own version of the classic sports car Cupra Darkrebel. “With this project, we want to redefine the way people experience and feel emotions without the constraints of the physical world – that’s why we call it ‘Exponential You’,” says Sven Schuwirth, COO of Cupra.
This “model self” is meant to connect with various communities in the metahype. A type of deep collaboration platform that grows with its users – that’s how metahype can be described. Where it will grow has not been determined. Metahype is not a finished project. Alba Collado and Visyon laid the groundwork and are now working on further creative developments.
