Miami GP: That has never happened before – the paddock in the stadium / Formula 1

In May 2022, 243,000 Formula 1 fans watched the inaugural Miami GP near the Miami Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium. For the 2023 edition, the Americans have come up with several ideas, such as a paddock on the field.

Full house in 2022, full house in 2023: The first Miami Grand Prix at the beginning of May last year was a fan magnet, and almost a quarter of the tickets were sold. Work is currently underway to build larger buildings, for 3000 more visitors per day.

In addition, fans should be given something unique. Organizers are using computer graphics to show what the paddock will look like at the US football team’s stadium in 2023 – fans can follow the play-offs from the stands by simply entering from below. There has never been anything like this before. Barcelona is compared in 1975, when the Montjuich paddock was in the football field next to the racetrack.

In 2022, the paddock was placed in the valley between the stadium wall and the pit building, so it was very tight. The 13 booths of ten teams including the FIA, Formule One Management and Pirelli have plenty of space in the field. There is even room for palms and corners to rest on.

Work is currently underway at the Hard Rock Stadium, as the new clubhouse paddock will be directly above the pit lane. Around 6,000 VIP guests will have the best view of the racecourse here, as well as the roof terrace.

The 5.41 km route will be newly paved. The track layout will not change for the 2023 edition of the race.
