Legendary rock guitarist, Steve Hackett, had to miss his scheduled show on Saturday (April 13) at the Hall of Fame in Phoenix, Arizona after being hospitalized.

The former Genesis guitarist took to social media on Sunday and shared the following message:

“Hey everyone, I’m so sorry for the scare. I was hoping to rule through the Phoenix show but I had a bronchial infection and a last-minute bad reaction to medication. So, the Doctors took me to the hospital. Now I’m. recovering and feeling better. I was very sad. miss the show and I’ll be back playing in Phoenix as soon as possible.

“With warm wishes, Steve”

Hackett recently released his new studio album, The Circus And The Nightwhale, via InsideOut Music.

Circus And The Nightwhale is Steve’s first new music in over two years. It follows the beautiful acoustic LP Under A Mediterranean Sky from January 2021 – which climbed to #2 in the UK Classical chart – and, in September of that year, his metal masterpiece Surrender Of Silence, which hit the UK Top 40. He played live in 2023. The album, Foxtrot At Fifty + Hackett Essentials: Live in Brighton, reached #2 on the Rock & Metal Chart. Steve’s new LP promises ballads, blues, progressive rock … and a healthy dose of theater and fantasy.

Recorded between tours in 2022 and 2023 at Siren studios in the UK – featuring guest parts from Sweden, Austria, USA, Azerbaijan and Denmark, The Circus And The Nightwhale line-up includes familiar faces with Steve on electric and acoustic guitars . , 12-string, mandolin, harmonica, percussion, bass and vocals. Roger King (keyboards, arrangements and orchestra), Rob Townsend (sax), Jonas Reingold (bass), Nad Sylvan (vocals), Craig Blundell (drums) and Amanda Lehmann on vocals. Nick D’Virgilio and Hugo Degenhardt return as guests on the drumstool, the amazing engineer Benedict Fenner appears on keyboards and Malik Mansurov is back on pitch. Finally, Steve’s brother John Hackett is back on the flute.

The new album is available to order in various formats, including CD+Blu-ray mediabook (including 5.1 Surround Sound & 24bit high quality stereo mix), Standard CD Jewelcase, Gatefold 180g Vinyl LP & as a Digital Album. Both feature beautiful cover art by Denise Marsh. Order here.
