Monk. MINI previews the innovative design of the upcoming all-electric model family: Charismatic Simplicity is a streamlined design language that focuses on essential elements. Each new MINI model acquires a strong character that is expressed with specific design details, while expressing individuality and clear brand meaning. Sustainable materials are another important part of the new design language.
“With our new design language Charismatic Simplicity, we are completely re-creating the iconic MINI. Our clean and progressive approach combines the simplicity of functional elements with the enthusiasm that MINI is known for,” says Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design. “We are convinced that the reduction of consciousness to a few but expressive elements allows discoveries that were previously unthinkable”.
The all-round OLED display combines tradition with the latest technology.
In the center of the reduced visibility cockpit is the round central instrument display, a MINI icon, which will be reinterpreted in the form of an OLED display in the next model family. MINI is the first car manufacturer in the world to offer a fully functional round-surface touchscreen. The OLED display has a diameter of 240 mm and combines the functions of the instrument cluster with an on-board monitor. The elegant design and frameless shape give it a more modern look. Touch controls enable a completely new, unconventional interface that also controls the integrated infotainment and climate functions. With a purist dashboard serving as a circular central display platform, the MINI continues the traditional design heritage of the classic MINI.

seats.
In addition to the central display, the steering wheel of the upcoming model family has also been significantly redesigned. The standard version has a two-way structure. Optional trimming adds a different fabric finish as a third element, along with sporty geometry. The upcoming MINI model family inspires with a variety of colors and high and sustainable quality as well as innovative fabric designs. Vibrant Silver is a repeating chromatic detail, which adds a special touch with its metallic look and shine, inside and out.
The seating arrangement is also different. New color combinations and new patterns as well as classic style elements such as the houndstooth pattern create a bridge between the past and the future. Laminated seat side panels have a premium look and prove attention to detail. Like the armrests included in the seats for the first time, which contribute to the classic feel of the cabin.
The new wheel design favors dimensions and aerodynamics.
The redesigned light alloy wheels also follow the principle of a new design language. The MINI wheels of the next model family no longer focus on the sculptural nature of the design in question, but on the graphic design characterized by strong color contrasts. This creates an illusion of grandeur, which is further emphasized by the outward pointing spokes. The more efficient and two-sided design of the wheels helps to improve the aerodynamic characteristics and increase the range thanks to its two-sided and compact design.
With these innovative design features, MINI is already hinting at the revolutionary step that the principle of Charismatic Simplicity is taking. MINI’s new design language combines quality, sustainability and improved hygiene in perfect combination with the brand’s historic DNA.
