Ana Carrasco (27): Best Yamaha R7 for Women’s World Championship / Women’s Motorcycle World Championship

As Supersport 300 World Champion, Ana Carrasco headlines the inaugural season of the Women’s World Touring Car Championship. He thinks: Yamaha R7 as a regular motorcycle is a good choice.

Anyone who follows Ana Carrasco on social media will get a good look at how the Spaniard is preparing for the first season of the Women’s Cycling World Championships. Whether at the Circuit de Catalunya, at the racetrack in Alcarras or at one of the many kart tracks in his country, the 27-year-old regularly trains with a Yamaha R7.

The standard motorcycle set for the Women’s World Cup has a two-cylinder engine with 689 cc, which in standard trim produces 73 hp. With a full tank, the road version weighs 188 kg. In various countries, Yamaha introduced the R7 Cup as an affordable entry-level series.

The R7 is a great choice for the only female world champion in the solo motorcycle class on the circuit so far. “I practiced a lot with the R7,” Carrasco said in super7moto. “Dimensions and weight are the same as the 600, but the performance is between the 300 and the 600. So I think it’s a good motorcycle for this class, especially because it’s a little in the middle. If I’m not mistaken, most of the female riders are from the Supersport 300 category. So it’s a motorcycle that everyone can get used to.”

For Carrasco, the huge interest in the new Women’s World Cup was a surprise. “I didn’t think there would be so many girls from so many countries. So many people were registered, 24 were selected – many were not included,” lamented the 2018 300cc world champion.
