Missing Edwards woman could have been ‘seriously harmed,’ sheriff says

Sheriff Darryl Daniels of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office has issued a statement indicating that a woman who went missing in the Edwards, Florida area could have been “seriously harmed” had she not been located.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the woman was reported missing on Saturday, August 8, after failing to return home from a jog. After an extensive search, the woman was located unharmed on Monday, August 10.

Sheriff Daniels stated that the woman had been “in a vulnerable situation” and that “had she not been located, she could have been seriously harmed.” He went on to emphasize the importance of being vigilant when out in public and to always be aware of one’s surroundings.

The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident and is asking anyone with information to come forward.

Sheriff Daniels declared that the Clay County Sheriff’s Office is committed to ensuring the safety of its residents and will do whatever it takes to ensure that those who are “victimized by a criminal element” are given the help they need. He further underscored his support for the citizens of Clay County and urged them to stay alert at all times.
