Red Bull Racing looks to be the undisputed number 1 in the current Formula 1 season Just like last season, when Max Verstappen won 19 races.
In this context, the boss of the McLaren team, Andrea Stella, will be “already happy” fighting with teams like Ferrari, Mercedes and Aston Martin for their place in the constructors’ championship.
Stella explains what she thinks can be achieved after the first four races.
“I think Red Bull have already shown that they are very competitive. And of course we would be very happy if we could fight with Ferrari, and Mercedes, and Aston Martin. They definitely have big improvements in their current or upcoming car. And we will have some too.”
“So it is difficult to predict who will finish where but playing for 3rd place in the championship seems possible for us. 2nd place ahead of Ferrari? It will be more difficult but we are not holding back.”
Can Norris win a race this season?
When asked if Norris would finally win a race this season, Stella didn’t deny it.
“We’re working hard to make sure that’s the case. And I think we’re getting more positive and hopeful that not only Lando, but Oscar will get their chance this year. And like I said, we’ll be able to do it depending a lot on the quality of the work we do to improve the car.”
“We’ll see after Miami what kind of steps forward we can make with our big development package, and then we’ll go from there.”
“We are working very hard to give Lando and Oscar the equipment and the car so they can run ahead.”
