BMW gains more power in race 1

The BMW camp near Schubert Motorsport and Walkenhorst Motorsport is a major beneficiary of the recent BoP cycle. After a disappointing qualification on Saturday, the BMW M4 GT3 is allowed to drive with a pressure boost of 0.056 bar. The GT3 race from the Munich car manufacturer now has a maximum pressure of 2.765 bar.

Extra power is available in the top speed range between 5,750 and 7,000 rpm. Marco Wittmann, Philipp Eng, Esteban Muth and Sheldon van der Linde finished in 14th, 16th, 19th and 22nd positions on Saturday.

Three other vehicles have also been affected by the BoP round. The Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II, Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo and Porsche 911 GT3 R should gain weight before the start of the first DTM race at Norisring.

Audi is the most affected. The R8 weighs ten kilograms and now weighs 1,345 kilograms. Ferrari and Porsche now drive five kilograms more. That means: 1,325 kg for 488 kg and 1,280 for 911.
