Which SUV to buy? DS 7 Crossback beats Audi Q5 Sportback! Unbiased press review: MOTOR No. 31/2021 | French.pl

The DS 7 Crossback appears on the cover of the current weekly issue of MOTOR. Unfortunately, his picture is placed on the bottom edge of the title page, which means that the French car will not be seen only in many media outlets. However, in the upper right corner there is a photo of the latest version of the Opel Grandland, a car manufactured by the PSA concern.

What examples are described / shown / mentioned: C1, 7 Crossback, 9 Crossback, 107, 108, 208, 208 PSE, 2008, 3008, Captur, Kadjar, MeganE, Twizy, Alpine SUV, bigger, Grandland

On pages 4-7, MOTOR presents images of SUVs that will soon enter the market or have appeared on the market recently. Among them – Renault MeganE and Opel Grandland after a facelift. The text also mentions Peugeot 2008 and 3008 and Renault Captura. The popularity of the SUV clearly does not want to fade.

In part Future releases (page 9.) MOTOR mentions Peugeot 208 PSE, Alpine SUV, Dacia BigsterDS 9 Crossback, Peugeot 3008 and Renault Kadjar.

The DS 7 Crossback is a very nice car with an elegant finish. Can he win MOTOR every week against the German model? And especially with the Audi Q5 Sportback? Hybrid versions were compared and already from the beginning the French car seems to be in a losing position – and the 300 horsepower car is almost 20% weaker than the Audi (367 HP). in my opinion there is only one winner – DS 7 Crossback. But it turns out that this is not the only advantage of the French SUV, especially since such a unit is not included in the rating table.

The Audi, which is more open and has a longer wheelbase, beats the DS in terms of interior space, and its finish, ergonomics, soundproofing and multimedia were also rated best. It also has better performance, although it weighs 250 kg more, and its engine seems to work better. It also uses more gasoline. The Audi also drives better, but not the best, but the DS offers more comfort. The brake and steering signals were closed. So far, Audi wins the table, although it must be admitted that it is only a little – with 4 points out of 270 possible points. However, when you want a well-equipped car with lots of safety systems, you should definitely go to one of the DS Stores. Although you can order a few more items from Audi, they are often already included in the standard equipment of the DS! Audi is also more expensive, in terms of the level of comparable versions and after the restyling. More expensive. And the question is, will it really give you that much respect? The popularity of all Audis has made this brand more and more attractive. The popularity of DS Automobiles is still low, so you will definitely stand in such a car, and many people will probably ask you what brand it is!

The most important thing is that the DS 7 Crossback won the battle with the Audi Q5 Sportback! Really! MOTOR awarded the French SUV a total of 238 points, and Audi collected only 226, so it was not an accidental victory. 12 points of difference is a lot, especially since the Audi is half a class bigger.

In part Used on page 34, a reader complains that he bought a Renault Twizy on the secondary market and the car has a range of 60 km. This is a common problem with used Twizys, but other electric cars also suffer from a significant range reduction, as reported by MOTOR .

On page 35 they write about the growing market for used campers and caravans. Campers built on the Peugeot, Citroën and Renault platform were mentioned.

Among the cars that love revs (also in parts Used) MOTOR mentions the Citroën C1 and its twin Peugeot 107/108, as well as the Peugeot 208 with Prince series engines and the Renault Clio III Sport. You can find the whole thing on pages 36-39.

And this is all that MOTOR wrote about the cars we are interested in in the current issue.
