New Cars September 2023, Range Rover PHEV to Chery Omoda 5 GT

There are not many new car launches in September 2023 compared to the previous month, which reached many models. However, the arrival of new cars on the Indonesian market is increasingly providing consumers with a variety of options.

According to Carmudi’s records, there are at least four new vehicles being launched in the period of September 2023. Of the four models dominated by the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment, only one is a sedan.

What’s more interesting is that the four new models come in different main power sources, such as Plug-In Hybrid, pure electric and internal combustion or Internal Combustion Engine (ICE).

Range Rover Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)

The first new car to be launched in September 2023, which is the Range Rover Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).

The car, which is sold by PT JLM Auto Indonesia, as a Brand Holder Agent (APM) and exclusive distributor of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) vehicles, is available in two versions, Range Rover SE and Range Rover Autobiography.

Both have a 3.0 liter (2,996 cc) turbocharged Ingenium 6-cylinder petrol engine with 433 hp at 5,500 – 6,500 rpm and 620 Nm of torque at 1,500 – 5,000 rpm.

This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with Gearshift Paddles which is responsible for transmitting power to all wheels or All Wheel Drive (AWD).

It also has a battery with a capacity of 38.2kWh and an electric motor of 160 kW.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Bluelink

PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) on September 13 2023 updated the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Now the electric car has Bluelink technology.

Through Bluelink technology, Hyundai Ioniq 5 users can remotely control various functions of the car through smartphones, such as adjusting the temperature in the cabin, starting and stopping charging, checking the information on the distance of the car, and so on.

The exterior color options of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Bluelink are optic white, titanium gray metallic, magnetic silver, midnight black pearl and gravity gold matte.

Chery Omoda 5 GT

Before the end of the ninth month of this year, or to be precise, September 29 2023, there are two new cars being launched in Indonesia, one of which is the Chery Omoda 5 GT.

PT Chery Mauzo Indonesia (CSI) sells it in two variants, which are Omoda 5 GT Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and Omoda 5 GT All Wheel Drive (AWD).

The Omoda 5 GT has a sportier aura than the previous Omoda 5 which has been on the market since March. The engine is also made differently, the Omoda 5 GT uses a 1,600 T GDI engine that can produce 197 hp of power and 290 Nm of torque.

Engine power is distributed to the front wheels or all wheels through a 7-speed clutch transmission.

In particular, the AWD variant gets additional features in the form of six driving modes, such as Normal, ECO, Sport, Gravel, Mud and Off Road.

New Toyota Corolla Altis

Another new car that was launched before the end of September, namely the Toyota New Corolla Altis. This latest sedan sold by PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) comes with simple exterior and interior upgrades.

The exterior features a New Lower Grille Design and newly designed 17-inch rims.

The interior now has the same 9-inch head unit which is integrated with 6 speakers, AM/FM, Bluetooth and Wifi, NFC (V only), Voice Command, and Wireless AACP (Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto).

Then there is the 12.3-inch Multi-Information Display (MID) which has three interface options, which are Casual, Smart and Sporty, three USB-C ports and a wireless charger for the V variant.

Toyota New Corolla Altis is still offered in two versions, 1.8 V CVT petrol and 1.8 Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) CVT.
