New Dacia Duster: A stylish SUV

Duster (HM series) has been on the market since 2018, and the second generation SUV was given a facelift in 2021. From 2024, the third generation will no longer be based on the old B0 platform, but will use the CMF-B base in the “Low Specification” version “, on which Logan III, Sandero II and Jogger are already based. This platform comes from the alliance of Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi.

Dacia Duster and hybrid car

Among other things, it allows for a hybrid car that uses the same technology as Renault Clio E-Tech or Dacia Jogger. Here is a 1.6-liter gasoline engine combined with two electric motors, the system output is 140 hp. It is doubtful whether Dacia will also be launched as a plug-in hybrid, diesel engines seem to be excluded. Neither the Jogger nor the latest Renault Austral or Espace models have diesel engines. Accordingly, small gasoline engines with a displacement of one liter are available in different performance ranges, as well as a 1.3-liter gasoline engine. There should also be an LPG version.

In the basic version, the new Duster will be equipped with front-wheel drive, in the top version with wheel drive.

Little Duster Bigster

Even though the prototype is heavily camouflaged, it already reveals a lot of detail. The model looks slightly bigger than the current Duster, which is 4.34 meters long. It still keeps enough distance for the Dacia Bigster, which will be launched in 2025 with 4.60 meters.

The new Duster is heavily based on the brand’s design, which Bigster first showed as a study. Accordingly, there are slim LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights at the front. It sits with an SUV layout and short overhangs. In front, the apron is obviously modified, and there are also lower guards. The angular wheel arches are visible from the side. Bulging fenders are also a thing of the past. The camouflage reveals that the rear doors have retractable handles. However, there will be classic bow handles in the series. The window band looks slightly narrower than the current model, while maintaining the window line that goes up to the rear. The arrow-shaped lights stand out at the back, as can be seen in the lesson. A roof edge spoiler protects the small rear window.

Inside, the Duster should also be redesigned. The quality of the material should be high, and the dashboard will have a new look, including a free screen and thin air vents. In addition, Dacia has given the Duster a new steering wheel in front of the digital cockpit, including new text on the shock absorber.
