New Lancia Ypsilon, all ready for production in Zaragoza

Throw takes further steps in its relaunch project. The Luca Napolitano CEOIndeed, he announced that Lancia is ready to start production of the new Ypsilon, the first of three models that the brand will launch by 2028.

Today, another chapter of our plan begins. I am happy to announce that we are ready with the production of the new Ypsilon: it will be the first of three vehicles in the brand’s new program and will be launched in 2024 in a 100% hybrid version with 48 V. A ten-year strategic plan that aims to simplify and efficiency: new Ypsilon in 2024, Gamma in 2026, Delta in 2028, with a new design every 2 years.

Thus, the first number of the brand confirms again that the new Ypsilon will be produced in a 100% electric version with a hybrid engine (Gentle Hybrid). Where will this new model be released? The first car in the manufacturer’s revival plan will be built at the Figueruelas plant near Zaragoza.

So everything seems ready to start producing the first models of the new car that will be used for testing while waiting for the official launch on the market. As Napolitano always points out, the new Ypsilon will be almost 4 meters long. In addition, some design elements will be taken from the special Lancia Pu+Ra HPE concept released in mid-April. From the concept, the car will also inherit the new interface SALA (Sound Light Augmented Air) which you “they will be able to control the sound, climate control and lighting functions, in a way that will allow the driver and passengers to adjust the environment inside the car, just by touching a button or by the sound of their voice.“.

In 2025, Lancia also plans to launch the HF version of the new Ypsilon which will be lower, about 4 cm wider and more powerful. According to what Napolitano said before, the power will be around 240 HP.

In the next few months, as we approach the presentation of the new Ypsilon, it is possible to get more information that will allow us to better understand the characteristics of this new design.
