Rüsselsheim, March 2024 – A FIAT specialist has opened the possibility to order a chassis for the new Fiat Ducato. This version, mainly for body builders, is based on the Light and Maxi chassis variants, which have reinforced axles and a higher permissible weight. Chassis are available with one or two cabs in three lengths and three wheelbases. Multiple high-performance turbodiesels, which drive the front axle with up to 132 kW (180 hp), ensure excellent driving performance.

Three wheels, two weight classes

FIAT Professional offers the Ducato chassis with three different wheels. The shortest variant (L2) has 3,450 millimeters or 3,800 millimeters between the front and rear axles, depending on the version. For medium-length (L3) and longer (L4) chassis, the wheelbase is always 4,035 mm.

Fiat Ducato in the light version is homologated with a permissible gross weight of 3,500 kg. Depending on the model, the payload is 1,425 to 1,660 kg. Thanks to the reinforced axles, the Fiat Ducato Maxi chassis is also available with a permissible weight of 4.0 tonnes. This chassis is rated with a load of up to 2,350 kg.

Mutijet turbodiesel with manual or automatic transmission

The chassis of the new Fiat Ducato is powered by a multijet turbodiesel. The 2.2-liter four-cylinder combines high efficiency and excellent performance thanks to common rail injection, a turbocharger with adjustable paddle wheel geometry and an intercooler. The range goes from 88 kW (120 hp) to 103 kW (140 hp) to the top version with an output of 132 kW (180 hp). Maximum torque is between 320 Newton meters for the base engine and 380 Newton meters for the 180 hp engine.

All engines meet the Euro 6E emission standard. Depending on the model variant, a manual transmission with six forward gears and an eight-speed automatic transmission are available.

Extensive range of optional equipment

The chassis of the new Fiat Ducato can be improved, it works with many options in the areas of comfort, infotainment and safety or even better adapted to the intended purpose.

Among other things, the Uconnect infotainment system is availableTM with a 10-inch monitor, an integrated navigation system and a charging station for inductive charging of compatible smartphones. The telematics box enables the use of services from FIAT Professional Connected Services. If required, a 220 volt socket, a keyless entry system and a motorsport system (Keyless Entry&Go) or air conditioning are also available. Double leaf springs on the rear axle and all-weather tires extend the range of use.

Safety while driving, for example, with a motorhome based on the Fiat Ducato can be further increased with optional features and driver assistance systems. This trim includes, among other things, a digital rearview mirror, Traction+ anti-skid control, adaptive cruise control, full LED headlights and an electric parking brake.

Prices for the new Fiat Ducato chassis start at 33,100 euros (net).
