Together with Greek , Maserati added a new SUV to its lineup last year, just below the Levante. The Italians then announced that the electric Grecale would follow, which, as Gran Turismo, would have the name “Folgore”. The time has come for the Italians to present the Grecale Folgore at the Shanghai Motor Show.
Two electric motors
The Maserati Grecale Folgore has a 105 kWh battery, although Maserati has yet to comment on autonomy. Considering the battery capacity, it is believed to be large. The two electric motors produce a total of 410 kW (558 hp) and 820 Nm of torque. We also don’t know the performance, but Maserati is already announcing a (small) top speed of 220 km/h.
High Frequency
When the battery is (almost) empty, it is of course possible to recharge it quickly, but the 22 kW charger on board also ensures faster charging times than most competitors. Finally, the normal driving mode is completed by the ‘Max Range’ mode, which reduces the climate, reduces the maximum speed to 130 km / h and reduces the throttle response.
Minor corrections
Visually, this Maserati Grecale Folgore will be recognized by the small aerodynamic changes – the Italians are starting the Trofeo version – and the absence of exhaust pipes. 19-inch wheels are standard, as is air suspension; 20 and 21 inch wheels are optional. The icing on the cake, the Rame Folgore body color is unique to the electric Grecale.
