This Sunday the Kasterlee Short Competition will be held in Belgium. Erik van Loon will start in the Subaru Impreza S14 WRC and will be led by Hein Verschuuren. Anja van Loon will drive the new Renault Clio Rally3 car and will be coached by Martine van den Heuvel. It will be the first time for Anja to drive a four-wheeler during a rally.
Nature
Subaru has had a complete rebuild and several cosmetic changes have also been made to the car. “The car is of course already 15 years old and has been through a lot. Seeing it in new condition again makes me happy. We have also chosen to return the paint to the original color with the Subaru World Rally Team racing at the time. I am really looking forward to driving this car which is allowed in Kasterlee . We won last year, I hope we can defend our championship!”
Anja is also looking forward to the rally in Kasterlee. “It will be my first match in a four-wheel drive Clio. I have driven several meetings with the two-wheel drive version and I really liked it. It will be a big step forward, because the previous car was almost normal and this one is definitely not. I really want to know the speed of Renault, but most of all I would like to finish and feel how to drive such a car.
To try
Next Wednesday Erik and Anja will test the cars at the Meppen circuit. “This way we can warm up a bit, but also get a feel for the cars. It’s been a year since I drove a Subaru and for Anja it was definitely the first time with a Clio. So a good warm-up is a bonus.”
Rally Kasterlee will take place on Sunday, August 27 near Kasterlee in Belgium. The meeting starts at 8:16 am and ends around 4:30 pm. For more information about the public meeting, visit https://www.rallykasterlee.be/.

Although I already knew the conference from TV, I got to experience the game in person in 2004 as part of a photo assignment. The protest virus hit me immediately. I visited more and more contests and posted photos through simple websites. This was later expanded to include news and the EventandSportNews website was created. Over the years, this has grown into today’s Rally News. In addition to sending press releases from various local and foreign teams, I also write my own articles. I regularly write press releases for various teams.
