New: Nissan Qashqai facelift (2024)

With five models (including the very old Leaf), Nissan’s range in Europe is very limited. Especially since the Qashqai is the absolute king of sales for the Japanese brand. That is why the third generation, which was born in 2021, is now playing billiards. The word “facelift” is certainly not an exaggeration in this regard …

In Ariya’s style?

It seems Qashqai was jealous of its electric sibling That is and insert it black in front. Indeed, after the facelift, the Qashqai receives its own black shield, built on the comma-shaped patterns of the old Japanese armor scales. The result is a more attractive look for the Qashqai up front. Once we move on to the sides and bumper, apart from the new color, rims and light signature, we don’t see much difference.

The same goes for the interior. Here, the Qashqai stays away from the Ariya and carves its own path. This is then a well-equipped infotainment system that now has Google Assistant. This allows you to shout “Hey Google” and activate many functions. The new N-Design equipment level brings more playfulness with Alcantra.

E-Power

Under the hood, Nissan does not take any risks, as the successful model continues to rely on already known engines. These include a 1.3-liter low-petrol hybrid that produces 140 hp or e-Power. The latter combines a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder with an electric motor where the gasoline engine is used as a generator to power a 1.8 kWh battery. As the 190 hp and 330 Nm electric motor drives the wheels all the time, it offers the driving of an electric car, without worrying about range!

With over 100,000 E-Powers already sold, it’s clear that Nissan is targeting this powertrain for the Qashqai in the coming years. Do you prefer electricity? In this case, you will have to turn to Ariya.
