The new 4th generation Citroen C3 with combustion engines. What units will we see?

The new 4th generation Citroen C3 will soon debut in showrooms. The car will receive an electric version, but customers are more interested in conventional combustion drives. What units will appear under the hood?

The Citroen C3 IV is a modern city car, offering a comfortable, spacious interior for its class, as well as good suspension and comfortable seats. Its silhouette is based on an SUV, and the manufacturer itself counts the biggest sales, and although it promotes the electric versions, it actually counts the biggest sales of the combustion versions.

Citroën stopped offering diesel. Therefore, there will be no 1.5 blueHDi units with a power of 100 HP, which provided very low fuel consumption. Instead, the new Citroen C3 will initially be offered with 100 HP 1.2 turbo petrol engines and a 6-speed manual gearbox. Later, a basic unit with a power of 82 HP should be added to the range, and at the end of 2024, hybrid drives will start, also with a power of 100 HP, which will be available with a direct transmission.

At the moment, nothing is known about the price – and this aspect seems to be important from the point of view of the success of the new model. The next third generation can be bought on sale for about PLN 60,000 – PLN 65,000 in the affordable version with air conditioning, which is a very attractive proposition considering today’s level of offerings. However, the new model will have a slightly higher price tag.

Citroën has already opened orders in France (electric version price from EUR 22,300), Germany (EUR 23,300), Spain (EUR 23,800), Italy and Switzerland. Poland is not yet included in the list of countries offering the new model.
