Nissan has released pricing and details for the 2024 Frontier midsize pickup truck, which will arrive on sale this fall. The range expands with the introduction of a retro Hardbody version, paying homage to Nissan’s 1980s minivan, as well as a new premium SL version.

The 2024 Frontier has a starting MSRP of $46,998 for the base SV Crew Cab 4×4 model. At the top of the range, the PRO-4X Luxury Crew Cab 4×4 model starts at $55,498.

The Hardbody Nostalgia Edition is based on the SV Crew Cab 4×4 model and retails for $49,998. It features retro design cues like 17-inch style wheels, all-terrain tires, black trim, and vintage “4×4” graphics and a tail inspired by the original Nissan Hardbody truck of the 1980s.

New for 2024 is the SL version, which serves as a top-of-the-line model placed above the SV. Available only on Crew Cabs, the SL offers LED lighting, leather seats, a 10-speaker Fender sound system, and other premium amenities. Pricing starts at $49,498.

The Frontier remains equipped with the 310-hp 3.8-liter V6, a 9-speed automatic transmission and a choice of 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain. Maximum towing capacity is 6,260 pounds. The off-road-focused PRO-4X gets upgrades like Bilstein shock absorbers and an electronically limited rear differential.

Tech highlights include standard Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, available wireless charging, Wi-Fi hotspot capability and a 3-year long trial of Nissan’s Premium Connected Services Package.

Safety equipment covers automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert and the Safety Shield 360 Driver assistance suite as standard across the range.

The 2024 Frontier competes with other midsize trucks like the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon and Toyota Tacoma. Nissan hopes the Hardbody’s retro styling and variety of trims will help add to the Frontier’s aging appeal.
