Dacia is making changes to three models. They will comply with the new GSR2 standard

Let’s start with the security requirements, because this is what the mentioned standard GSR2 (General Security Management) covers. From July 7, 2024, certain driver assistance systems will be mandatory in new passenger cars sold in the European Union.

New Dacia Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Jogger with more equipment

Dacia announces that its entire model range will meet the new regulations. Orders for the Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Jogger models will be available from April 2024 (depending on the market). At the beginning of May and June, the all-new Duster will go on sale, which, of course, will also take into account these needs.

All new Dacias from the base Essential trim level will be equipped with the following:

  • event data record;

  • alcohol lock installation preparation;

  • road sign recognition and over speed warning system;

  • route control system;

  • road maintenance system;

  • driver fatigue control system;

  • rear parking assist;

  • light and rain sensors;

  • emergency braking system with pedestrian and bicycle detection function;

  • emergency stop sign.

Some assistance systems can be disabled using the “My Safety” button on the dashboard (each time the car is started).

The Romanian manufacturer will also introduce special QR codes containing information about the vehicle’s design (eg body reinforcement, battery location), which is intended to facilitate the work of firefighters in the event of a rescue operation. It’s like a digital emergency card. Coded stickers will be placed on the front and rear windows of each commercial vehicle.

Dacia Sandero and Jogger from the 2024 model year will be distinguished by new rim designs and color finishes. For example, Sandero Stepway can be ordered in Safari beige (as in the photo above), which should increase the external character. All models will be available in body colors Schiste gray (previously only on the Jogger) and Cèdre green (until now reserved for the Extreme version).

In addition, there will be new stickers on the front doors of the Jogger and Sandero Stepway in the Expression version, under the side mirrors – with the Dacia Link logo and the GPS coordinates of Romania’s famous Transfagarasan Highway.

Not only that, there will be new USB-C sockets inside. At the front it will be standard, and at the back such a port will need to order the Comfort Premium package.

More changes will take place on the Dacia Jogger itself. Manual air conditioning will be offered from the base version of the Essential.

The following modifications concern the hybrid version with a power of 140 HP, which will also appear on the market in April. This jogger will get a 7-inch display on the dashboard, introduced earlier in the new Duster, which will provide more information to the driver.

There will also be an E-Save function that allows you to reach a certain level of charge of the tow battery (about 70%) in order to save the right amount of energy for the rest of the way.
