Lexus UX, news for the 2024 Model Year

Here it comes Model Year 2024 of the Lexus UX that brings news especially to the fore of the hybrid power train. The crossover, we remember, is also offered in a 100% electric version. Let’s get into the details.

NEW POWER TRAIN

Lexus UX 250h Premium Hybrid is replaced by the new version of the UX 300h. The powertrain configuration is always the same, a 2-liter inline four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. However, the rear electric motor of the new e-Four all-wheel drive system is more powerful than its predecessor. In particular, instead of the 5.3 kW (7 HP) induction unit there is now a 30 kW (41 HP) permanent magnet motor.

In general, it is available there is 146 kW (199 hp). Additionally, instead of a 180-cell, 216-volt nickel-metal hydride battery, the new model takes 60 cell, 222 volt lithium ion battery. In terms of performance, speed up 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.9 seconds (8.1 seconds for the front-wheel drive model only). Thanks to the overall efficiency improvement, consumption has also been improved: 4.7 – 5.0 l/100 km for the front-wheel drive model and 5.0 – 5.4 l/100 km for the all-wheel drive model relevant in the combined WLTP cycle.

There are no specific innovations for the exterior except for the availability of a new Sonic Copper color for all trim levels. For the F-SPORT version and the F-SPORT Model, a further two-tone combination variant is available, with a special set of exterior colors, which now extend from the A-pillar to the C-pillar.

Moving to the interior, available, on request, a new 12.3-inch display for digital instruments that can be customized in graphics. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment has also been updated. Lexus also offers a new color for the interior, Light Sand, and a leather upholstery package with textured leather seats, and synthetic leather for the heated steering wheel and gear knob. The steering wheel has been updated to integrate a Driver Monitor camera that constantly monitors the driver’s attention and detects if he has lost focus due to fatigue or weakness.

If the driver does not respond to the warnings, the monitor activates the Driver’s Emergency Stop, bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop and activating the emergency lights. Lexus has also updated the package of driver assistance systems Lexus Security System +.

Finally, we would like to remind you that in 2023, the front version of the UX 300e Full Electric was updated with a battery with a capacity of 72.8 kWh (previously 54.3 kWh). As a result, the range had increased to 450 km according to the WLTP cycle.

Lexus UX 300h starts from 43,500 euros. Electric version of Lexus UX 300e from 58,000 euros.
