Shipowner CMA CGM has confirmed that it is joining forces with Renault and Volvo, in order to produce electric vans at the Renault factory in Sandouville, in Seine-Maritime. The information was revealed in October last year. This Wednesday, in a press release, details of the owner of the Marseille ship took a 10% stake in Flexis.

Flexis is an electric car venture designed by Renault and Volvo. CMA CGM Group goes and invests“up to €120 million”. The two automakers must put together 600 million euros. Each of them will hold 45%.

550 jobs within four years
The announcement of the future FlexEvan production location at France’s Sandouville plant was accompanied by a commitment to hire 550 over four years.
