Nosta Group Fleet Volvo FH Electric: Clean cargo for Felix Schoeller – transport equipment and services, electromobility (e-mobility) | News | VISION Mobility

A manufacturer of special paper solutions has transferred project management to its logistics partner, Nosta reports. To provide the new trucks with electricity during charging, a total of three charging stations were installed at the factory and at the temporary storage facility.

“Electric trucks are the future. They offer the opportunity – while using green electricity – to drive completely emission-free. That’s why switching to battery-powered vehicles is the biggest driver of CO2-free,” says Jörg Prochaska, Nosta branch manager in Siebenlehn .

Alexander Remy, Supply Chain and Logistics Manager at Felix Schoeller, calculates that a paper manufacturer can save significant emissions by electrifying its transport:

“Every year there are about 3,000 trips and around 140,000 kilometers between our factory in Weißenborn and the warehouse in Siebenlehn, which moves 55,000 tons of material. By installing electric transport, we can save up to 160,000 kg of CO2 emissions and at the same time reduce by A large amount of noise pollution on the road.

As a full service partner of Felix Schoeller, the Nosta Group is leading this project. The logistics company installed three new charging stations directly at loading ramps, one at a temporary storage facility and two at the Felix Schoeller factory. Terminals supply trucks and electricity in parallel with the payment process – an important part of the overall concept.

Christian Hammacher, COO Road of the Nosta Group, sees the practical benefits of this solution:

“The loading and unloading time of the vehicles is sufficient to fill the battery for the next trip, so that charging times are reduced and the working process does not need to be adjusted.”

That is why the transport between the Felix Schoeller plant in Weißenborn and the temporary storage facility in Siebenlehn is particularly suitable for electrification, operationally and economically. This emerged from an internal analysis conducted previously.

“In Felix Schoeller we have found the right cooperation partner because they follow the same goal – they also want to be climate neutral,” says Christian Hammacher.

The Weißenborn plant is a pilot project for a paper manufacturer to validate sustainable processes and products.

“Sustainability is an important part of our corporate strategy. This project makes them directly visible and tangible,” says Alexander Remy.
