Price: Nissan Ariya Nismo (2024) more than 65,000 euros

For a long time in this country there was silence about Nismo, Nissan’s sports department. Instead of stuffing the Juke, Qashqai or Leaf, the focus was on electrifying the various models. And the Nissan GT-R Nismo, the last racer to step down in 2022 due to stricter European emissions regulations. With the Nissan Ariya Nismo (2024), some changes may return to showrooms soon. The brand introduced it to the home market of Japan in January 2024 and announced it for the spring season. Then Power Ariya could come to Germany later this year. This concept is especially suggested by the suspect Nismo Erlkönig, which was photographed on the streets of Germany in autumn 2023. As far as the price is concerned, it will probably be higher than the most powerful Ariya Evolve+ so far, starting from 65,490 euros (until February 2024) and more towards 75,000 euros. Drive: Up to 435 hp with all-wheel drive

When it comes to driving, Nissan has already revealed that the Ariya Nismo (2024) will have a dual-engine variant with all-wheel drive and will also be available in two battery sizes. With a small battery (66 kWh), 270 kW (367 hp) and 560 Nm should be available under the accelerator pedal. The large battery pack has 91 kWh and thus enables 320 kW (435 hp) and 600 Nm. Nissan has not yet released any information about the range. Considering the more damaged and therefore less balanced body condition, around 400 km (small battery) or around 500 km (large battery) should be considered realistic. There will be a special driving mode only in Nismo, and the engine sound is also inspired by Formula E.

Exterior and interior: a classic Nismo case

From the outside, Nissan Ariya Nismo (2024) is clearly recognizable as such. Not necessarily because it would carry split attachments all over, but because the classic Nismo red stripe runs through all the aprons and the exterior mirror housings. Visual highlights include a motorsport-inspired fog light, central fog light on the diffuser and a black stripe on the front hood. Otherwise, Ariya holds the drama, which is also emphasized by her destructive mouth.

Nismo also uses a red pencil for the interior, giving the Nissan Ariya more color. The sporty touch is completed by Nismo sports seats and twelve o’clock markings on the two-person steering wheel. The brand wants to announce more details during the market launch.

Our conclusion

A sports model like the Nissan Ariya Nismo (2024) would suit the brand in this country. So we can only hope that Nismo will find its way our way soon. However, there are already other competitors on the market that offer more power at the same estimated price.
