Nissan Juke Hybrid – Increased sales are much needed

To increase Juke sales, a semi-electronic substitute will be added to the list. Is it the right choice? In this video you will hear the answer!

Known powertrain

To date, the Juke was only available with a 114 hp liter three-cylinder that could be connected to a manual or automatic transmission. With enough regulation for a car of this size, but of course there is always room for improvement. As with this hybrid power train that promises more power and lower consumption. It is not surprising that the Juke Hybrid has the same power train as the Renault Captur E-Tech, although it does not appear on the market until two years after the merger.

As a reminder, this is a special combination of a 1.6-liter 1.6-cylinder with 94 hp, a 49-hp electric motor and a 20-hp start generator. They are connected to a transmission that has two gears for an E-motor and four for four cylinders. Clutch and synchro rings are not required, because electric motors can be used all the time for starting and stopping the gear. Various combinations are possible using three motors for propulsion or electric generation generation. The energy can then be stored in a 1.2 kWh battery pack under the floor of the luggage compartment.

Cheap variant

In terms of practical comfort, you provide a few tens of liters of luggage space at the expense of the battery. And that time was not the largest part of part B of all. When the Juke hybrid arrives in the Netherlands in a few weeks, it will probably claim the bulk of sales. Due to low CO2 emissions, Nissan could put 600 euros cheaper than the standard version with automatic transmission. The price difference with the manual gearbox is 1,800 euros for Hybrid. There is, however, an automatic transmission and we hope low practical use is included.

The hybrid is available from the third (and most popular) five-trim standard, for 33,040 to 35,840 euros. But if it fits, it depends largely on how well the drive is fitted. In various Renault models we concluded that it took some patience and patience to align ourselves with this technique. Watch the video to see if Nissan engineers have done a better job.

For others, Juke has largely remained the same. With regard to the infotainment system with obsolete navigation, it does not have to be a cause for rejoicing, but it can continue. While the tachometer is superfluous, the instruments have been replaced by a digital dashboard with its own interface. An ‘electrical measure’ that indicates how much energy storage or renewable energy plays a major role in this.

In the interior, the ‘e-Pedal’ button is also new. By this you indicate how much the car should break on the motor (electric) when the gas is released. The chassis is still on the solid side, which means it can slip slightly on rough road surfaces with 19-inch wheels.
