New Nissan Skyline Nismo: Infiniti just refreshed

In 2014, Nissan tried to compete with three German premium brands by creating its own luxury brand, and to do so they counted on the Infiniti Q50, among others. To attract this model, Nissan presented the concept of Eau Rouge. This was powered by the Nissan GT-R’s twin-turbo V6 and aimed at BMW’s M models and Mercedes’ AMG variants.

A production model of the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge was considered for some time, but these plans did not come to fruition.

Almost 10 years later, the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge is making a comeback. Or at least it seems like it, as the new Nissan Skyline Nismo uses the same base. Up front, the 3.5-liter V6 uses twin turbos to increase peak power and torque to 420 hp and 550 Nm respectively. Even better: this power, managed by a seven-speed automatic transmission, is transmitted only to the rear wheels.

Of course, the Nismo treatment is not limited to improving the engine: the body (strengthened), the chassis (reduced) and the tires (wider) are also affected. In any case, it will be a collector’s item, because the Japanese manufacturer limits the edition of the new Nissan Skyline Nismo to 100 copies.
