Tesla: Many new cars with defects

It has already been proven that Tesla models often perform poorly in the TÜV test. But hair growth defects seem to be on the rise even in brand new cars, reports “Auto Motor & Sport”. Tesla fans use strange tricks.

Who is one? used cars If you buy, you must check three times and you should not ignore any defect. However, there are a few car manufacturers where even a new car can be riddled with serious defects – one of them is Tesla. “Rust on the wishbones, primer shining through the paint, poorly glazed and therefore leaking windows, incorrect gap measurements, errors in the support systems: Because Tesla is not very receptive when it comes to fixing such defects, even in cars new, there are more lawyers dealing with Tesla,” reports “Auto Motor & Sport” in its current issue.

Tesla: Rust on demand in new cars

Attorney Christoph Lindner is a Tesla driver himself and, according to his own statements, has about 1,000 customers of the brand as customers every year. “Currently there is an increasing number of cases in the Model 3 and Y where the ultrasonic parking sensors have been replaced by a camera-based distance measurement. The system works very unreliable, says lawyer Lindner,” reports the newspaper. “Tesla does not have the size of to honestly admit and correct the mistake,” the lawyer continued. “Auto Motor & Sport” investigated the problem with the Tesla Model 3 itself and confirmed that the technology is not working properly.

Support for your own designs

Tesla’s customers seem to have a strong capacity to suffer. Tesla is still the most successful electric car brand in the world, and the Model Y was even the best-selling car in Germany in 2023. To fix the defects of the old works, special mechanics have now created their own technical solutions. “The auto parts specialist in Hamburg, Meyle, has developed a package for the Model 3 and Y whose rubber heads no longer allow water to penetrate. Naturally, corrosion causes increased wear and knocking noise. Autoteile Zimmermann from Pflugdorf in Bavaria not only he improves the entire Tesla design series in his own workshop, but also has chassis components developed in-house, such as stronger wishbones and more durable polyurethane bushings,” reports “Auto Motor & Sport”.

Tesla’s electric cars have failed the TÜV test

In any case, Tesla does not seem to be a recommended car to use if you look at the TÜV results along with these reports. In the 2024 used car report, the Tesla Model 3 performed poorly. For the report, TÜV examined a total of 111 different vehicle types that were registered for the first time two to three years ago. So it was the first HU for these models. This lands in last place in this category Tesla model 3 – and to a great extent. This means that no other car did worse than Tesla. Of the Model 3 Teslas tested, they crashed 14.7% already on the first TÜV through. The Dacia Logan, who finished second to last, still has an 11.4 percent failure rate.
