Nissan unveils Skyline GT-R R32 which will be converted into an electric car

Ahead of the launch, Nissan is offering a classic sports car that is about to say goodbye to its internal combustion engine in favor of an electric unit.

Nissan GT-R fans have one more reason to be excited, or not, because Nissan plans to convert the Skyline GT-R R32 into an electric car. This program will make it possible to give a second youth to the famous 30-year-old sportsman, and prepare us for the next generation that can be electric.

Nissan released a video showing the car in its original state, before the conversion began. Fans of the Skyline GT-R R32 may be sad to see such a popular car undergo a major facelift, but it’s in your hands, and it will allow the manufacturer to promote its EV technology.

Although Nissan has yet to reveal which engine will replace the car’s stock engine, it’s safe to assume that the Ariya’s all-electric powertrain could be a viable option. The most powerful version of the Ariya is capable of producing up to 394 hp, which is more than enough to breathe new life into the Skyline GT-R R32, which produces 280 hp in its hot version.

The Skyline GT-R R32 EV conversion project was started by a Nissan engineer who was passionate about this car. This Skyline GT-R R32 EV conversion project is one of a series of custom conversions done by automakers to develop their EV technology.
