An electric car with sporty looks and no sporty performance

Subaru is giving the Solterra an “electric sports outfit” that they want to boost demand a bit. There is a new STe version that can be bought as a Subaru Solterra package and costs 3,500 euros. However, this option is only available from the middle line of Platinum equipment, which costs from 60,990 euros.

For around 65,000 euros, Subaru gives you a sporty look and extras like 20-inch gloss black wheels in Y-spoke design, fender flares and painted wheel arch trim in the car’s color.

However, there are still two 80 kW (109 hp) electric motors on the axles no more than 160 kW (218 hp). It will not be easy, because the Tesla Model Y Performance also starts at 60,990 euros and has more than 500 hp. More will be possible with the Toyota platform, see Lexus (230 kW or 313 hp).

PS: I don’t mean to say that 218 hp is not enough, of course it is enough, but you don’t need more than you need for a sporty look. So if you go that route, why not provide the right service to go with it.
