Cadillac and the Chip Ganassi Racing team will part ways at the end of 2024. After many successes in IndyCar and NASCAR, a permanent partnership between the two American entities began in 2021, in IMSA and DPi-VR, and then. continued last year with the V-Series.R LMDh in the Stars and Stripes series and in the FIA WEC. However, Cadillac has announced that, starting in 2025, there will be no continuation of the contract with Ganassi Racing in IMSA or the World Endurance Championship.

In the American championship, Cadillac will again be represented by Action Express Racing, this year at the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the V-Series.R LMDh, which will double its presence on the track with two cars next season. However, it still remains to be determined who will be the official Cadillac team in the WEC. The American manufacturer has not released any information on the matter but, according to rumors, it would like to present two LMDhs throughout the season.

The list of teams that could be called to compete in the V-Series.R LMDh in the World Endurance Championship is certainly long. Among the first candidates there is certainly TF Sport which, in addition to boasting a solid experience, has been following the Corvette GT for several seasons, which also belongs to the General Motors group like Cadillac. Also not to be overlooked is United Autosports which, as a reference in LMP2, this year competes with the McLaren 720S in LMGT3. If you look at ELMS, you can of course take into account Algarve Pro Racing, a team with many titles in LMP2, and Vector Sport which should be making its debut in Hypercar this year with Isotta Fraschini.

Also unclear is the future of Chip Gannassi Racing in endurance racing. Last year, in order to better manage Cadillac’s debut in the WEC, the American team opened a European headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, investing a lot of money. Now, with the departure of the Detroit manufacturer, Ganassi Racing will have to look around to continue its program in the World Endurance Championship.
