The 2024 Genesis G70 is a sports sedan with one of the biggest advantages over its peers in the segment. It also has many small details that we don’t often see in the sports sedan segment. Here’s a rundown of what we found interesting about this $58,350 performance car.

2024 Genesis G70 3.3T’s Biggest Differentiator
The most surprising thing, we would almost call it the greatest strength, of the G70 is that it is not overly harsh and hard to drive. Most sport sedans we test complain about road roughness, but not the G70. Despite its low tires, the G70 is comfortable in all driving conditions. Some of the sports sedans we test are very stiff and unsatisfying. Not the G70. Instead, his journey is almost luxurious. However, it handles and steers well. Okay, Genesis!

Three Little Things That Tip the Scale in the G70’s Favor
During testing, we found three ways that the G70 delivered more than expected in this segment. Here is our list of advantages that we feel make it a good choice in this competitive class of car:
1) Spare Tire. Look under the G70’s cargo floor and you’ll find not only a compact spare, but tire tools and ample storage space for emergency supplies. That means it’s a better touring car than most other cars, which would only give you a flat tire and an Uber if you damaged the sidewall of the tire.
2) Real Back Seat. If you need a back seat for two adults in a pinch, the G70 can deliver. There are actually three belts, but forget the middle seat unless the occupant is under four feet tall and willing to sit with their knees up to their chins. Still, the outboard seats are more than adequate for full-sized people on any trip other than long-distance hauling.
3) Seat Controls You Won’t See Elsewhere. The G70 offers a set of seat controls that the driver can use to control the front passenger seat. Now, this may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s actually quite the opposite. We used them almost every day in our tests. On other journeys, the front passenger is in the car. You move the seats back. On other trips, our passenger was a child who would sit on the passenger side in the back. We moved the front seat forward to increase the space. Genius. Why doesn’t every car have this?

In addition to these features, benefits, and conveniences, the G70 also offers a luxurious interior, a gorgeous exterior, and nearly 400 lb-ft of torque delivered through a rear-wheel-drive chassis with all-wheel drive. This is a pure driving car and it is used in the real world. We would buy a Tesla Model 3 LR AWD and an Acura TLX. However, given the Genesis’ warranty, which is nearly twice as long as its competitors, plus three years of included maintenance and valet service, the value proposition points the way for the G70.
