Over-the-air updates have their benefits. Being able to schedule updates yourself is one of them. Still, Tesla is recommending its customers to update as soon as possible. TikTok star Brianna Filos responded by activating a 24-minute update in the sun. He shouldn’t have done that.

Filos stayed in the car, assuming that an update would be made shortly. You cannot use the car during the update. So do not let cold air enter the cabinet or open the door or window. You can open the doors by pulling the lever, but Tesla surprisingly advises against that.

Tesla’s manual says: “Vehicle functionality, including some safety systems and the opening and closing of doors and windows, may be limited or disabled during installation and may damage the vehicle.” Filos reads this and decides to comply by waiting for the update. Meanwhile, it’s getting hotter in the Model 3 and the temperature rises to 46 degrees Celsius. After 40 minutes, not 24, the update is over and the weather can be turned on.

Door handles are not secure

There is already some buzz about the new electric door handles. These levers disappear into the bodywork to ensure less air resistance. The disadvantage of these door handles is safety. In the event of an accident, these levers can block and become unusable. This prevents emergency personnel from entering the vehicle. If the TikTok star was there for a long time and could no longer pull those levers himself, things would end badly. Well, you can always hit the square of course.
