Update: Belgium price and first shipment

Production of the Polestar 4 began in China in November 2023. In Europe, orders will open on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, with first deliveries expected in August. Price:

• Polestar 4 Long Range Single Motor: 64.800 euros
• Polestar 4 Long Range Dual Motor: 72.800 euros

Four option packages are available for the new Polestar 4:

2. Package Plus (5.500 euros)
3. Pack Pro (2.000 euros)
4. Performance Pack (4,500 euros, for Dual Motor only)

Between 2 and 3

Of the 2 that have been produced here for several years with some success and the 3, expected later this year in Belgium and technically related to the Volvo EX90, Polestar brings an additional model. And that would be Polestar 4. After all, the numbers used as first names are related to the order in which the models were launched, not to their size.

Polestar 4 is an electric speed recovery with crossover features, a choice of bodywork that seeks balance between space, aerodynamics and sport.

Where has the back window gone?

The Polestar 4 is a beautifully designed five-door, with features of Code concept from 2020. Still the lines are amazing in the background. There is no more conventional reverse there, the glass roof extends well past the heads of the occupants. We are promised that it will create a unique atmosphere in the interior.

You will also be able to order the roof with an electrochromatic function, making it transparent and opaque. The traditional rear window glass has been replaced by a camera on the roof and an additional interior screen of course Real time shows what is going on behind the car.

Android Automotive OS

For the Polestar 4 driver there is an ample and of course digital instrument cluster, on the center console there is a screen of no less than 15.4 inches. The infotainment system comes with Android Automotive OS, you can use the whole range of Google functions in the electric car. There is also a head-up display with a projection surface of 14.7 inches and Harman Kardon comes with a sound system with twelve or even sixteen speakers.

Speaking of the interior, Polestar talks about the mono-material approach, which means that all the layers of a certain part are made of the same material. That of course makes it easier to reuse later. Upholstery consists entirely of fabrics used with animal-friendly nappa leather.

SEA-platform

At the front of the Polestar 4, the long nose and light bars consisting of two ‘stripes’ are striking, the side doors have recessed handles and also frameless windows. The air vents should improve airflow around the rear light bar.

The Polestar 4 is based on the Sustainable Experience Design or SEA platform of the Chinese Geely Holding Company. This electric car is placed in the D segment, like the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class.

Dimensions, battery and driving range

You already understood, Polestar 4 will also be available only with an electric drive. There will be a choice of a version with a single engine (rear-wheel drive) and a version with two engines (all-wheel drive). Both versions have the same 103 kWh battery. The Polestar 4 can charge up to 200 kW DC and 22 kW AC.

The Polestar 4 Long Range Single has a system power of 272 hp, a maximum torque of 343 Nm and a driving distance of 600 km, while the Long Range Dual has 544 hp, 686 Nm and 560 km. The top variant, also with suspension with semi-active, it can run from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds.

Radar, twelve cameras and numerous aerial sensors must ensure a high level of safety, and Polestar can also draw on the extensive experience of its sister brand Volvo. In terms of equipment, various packages are offered, including one called Performance. It includes a revised chassis, 22-inch wheels and four-piston Brembo brakes.
