Opel Astra-e completely electric in 2023 reality

Opel has confirmed that fully operational electronics Opel Astra is on its way. The model will be called the Astra-e and will be in the Dutch theaters in 2023. Opel Astra-e will be the first mass-produced electric Astra ever to appear.

PHEV and all electronics

With the brand new, sixth-generation Opel Astra, the brand is launching an attack on the C-section. -Lux LED Pixel Light and for the first time also electric trains. Opel will start with two powerful hybrids of the plug-in and will introduce the fully-fledged Opel Astra-e by 2023.

The new Astra is based on the third generation of the powerful EMP2 platform. This platform offers space for gasoline and diesel engines, for the PHEV power train, but also for the electric battery train. Now the column looks like this:

Opel Electronics models

From 2028, Opel will offer only electric vehicles to Opel’s most important market: Europe. Opel is already in the midst of a major power outage attack. The brand will already offer nine electric-powered designs by 2021 and installed versions of all types will also be available by 2024. Opel already has many electric models, such as Corsa-e, Mokka-e, Combo-e, Vivaro-e and Movano- e. Over the course of 2023, Opel will add Astra-e with full power to the line. Opel has plug-in hybrids in the Opel Grandland Hybrid system and from now on also the new Astra.

Astra five-door hatchback

Opel will launch early 2022 with the Astra five-door hatchback, which has a lower profile but above all sports and more space than its predecessor. Thanks to the very short front section, the new Astra is only 4 millimeters taller than the previous model – it now has a height of 4,374 mm. Wheelbase grew by 13 mm to 2,675 mm compared to the previous Astra. The new Astra has a width of 1,860 mm (+51 mm) and the height is reduced by 15 mm. With these tests, the new Astra reaches a good place in the short class. The convertible floor luggage section still provides the driver and his four passengers with 422 liters of carrying capacity, which was 370 liters on the original Astra. If you reduce the rear seats of the rear seats, you can reach 1,250 liters. Astra Sports Tourist – who has more luggage space – will follow later.

The new Opel Astra could be ordered from October this year. At the beginning of 2022, the new Opel Astra will arrive to Dutch dealers.
